Kol Nidrey, High Holidays 2011   Cantor Presler was introduced to Cantorial music at a young age, and at the age of five David sang as a choir soloist on the High Holydays. David sang alto with Leon Berger’s choirs from 1967-1970. At 16, David resumed professional singing in the Synagogue as Cantor on the High Holidays in East Strausburg, PA, his birthplace. Since then, Cantor Presler has served numerous congregations in the New York area, and currently serves Temple Emeth of Delray Beach. Cantor Presler received his Cantorial training privately with Cantor Noah Schall, the leading authority on Cantorial music. He has studied with Cantor Schall for the past years. The training encompasses style and interpretation as well as notation, improvisation and composition. Cantor Presler has composed many melodies for the liturgy including 100 versions of Ani Maamin (currently not available). Some of Cantor Presler’s compositions are available on his Jewish Jazz album entitled “Time for Moshiach” (available for purchase). Cantor Presler has also recorded Megillat Esther (chanted on Purim), and the Shabbat morning service (ava ilable for purchase on CD or DVD). Cantor Presler enjoys leading services. Many people are touched, moved and inspired by his beautiful renditions of the liturgy. Visitors are welcome to attend Shabbat morning services at Temple Emeth.
